Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I remember where I was a few years ago when Andy Williams' Christmas classic, "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" played on my car radio. My grandfather, who lived with us, was gravely ill. Our entire family was stressed and the last thing we were thinking about was Christmas. As the song continued, I remember crying out, "But it's not wonderful," as the tears streamed down my cheeks. My grandfather entered into hospice on Christmas Day and went to be with our Lord on New Year's Day.
May God open our hearts to prepare the way for the coming of Jesus and guide us in His ways of compassion so that we may extend His love and mercy to all people throughout this Advent and Christmas season.
In Christ,
